Fly tying anyone?

Featured Replies

Here are a few pictures of some of the many flies I have been tying. I started fly tying about 2 months ago and I love it. I mainly tie flies used for steel head and salmon but i have made a few bass flies.

Feel free to post pics of your own stuff too

Some Bass flies that imitate plastic worms.

Looks good keep up the good work, soon you will be tying the 24 size trout flies.  I don't think I can even see hooks that small anymore but it was fun back in the day.

Nice job dude.  I havent tied a fly for a long time.  I use to make a bunch of different styles.  Just dont do it anymore.

Nice flies.  I too am just starting out.  I have been tying bass, and trout flies.  I can't see the tiny flies too good though.  The zebra midge is a challenge for me!  I have also been making wooly bugger, wooly worm, marabou jigs etc...  I have been tying now just a few days.   8-)

Those look great!  I tie some flies myself.  Your first one looks a lot like my favorite fly for bass, but yours looks much better than mine (only 2 months ehhh I guess I'm a slow learner).  Here's how I use it.  This is a spring technique for me.  I take the back treble off a floating jerkbait or a suspending jerkbait.  I then attach about 12 to 18 of 8lb test fluorocarbon and attach the fly to the line.  It seems to work good in early spring for me.  About 1/4 of my hookups come on the fly end of the rig.  The only problem with the rig is that it often gets wrapped around the jerkbait on the cast.
