I'm looking to upgrade all my rods before this spring and was wondering if you guys think the Veritas is a good enough rod to satisfy all types of fishing? I will be purchasing a flipping/pitching stick, crankbait, worm and jig, spinnerbaits/vibrating jigs, jerkbaits/ topwaters and lastly a shaky head/drop shot rod. Do you guys think the Veritas has the right sensitivity and feel to be a nice Rod for these applications? Given I'll be buying the right power and action for each type of lure I'll be using.

Yes they will be fine!

They are a little stiffer in the tip so you might want to keep that in mind when choosing actions and powers.

They are slightly stiffer than rated, so if your used to something on the edge of the rating- err to the softer rod.

They are good rods. Just plan on the M actually being MH and the ML being M, etc, and you will be fine.

Would ya'll choose these rods compared to the JM Carbonlite? I was deadset on the Carbonlite, but seeing this throws a wrench in my plans.

I love my Veritas rods.  What everyone else is saying is true. They are a bit stiffer than you would think, based on their power. I dont mind it though. I like my 2 7' MH casting Veritas rods

I have the 1.0 Veritas rods in 7' m, 7'3" mh, and 7'6" mh (all casting). I have not tried the 2.0 versions, but they are supposedly power rated more accurately than the 1.0. That being said, the 7'3" mh has more backbone than the 7'6", so I would recommend maybe getting 2 or 3 first, then going from there to see what other lengths and power rating you want based on those 2 or 3.

I have a Veritas sitting in my closet, two broken guides on it. I honestly can say I'd prefer to throw with a Duckett Magic Pro in that price range. You can usually get them for 90-120 dollars if you shop around.

Only rods I'll use, but I like a stiffer Rod you might not. There not for everyone.

I think you'd be fairly happy with either.

The carbonlites ARE lighter. If that's what you're looking for. But the veritas certainly aren't heavy.

That is the only Veritas I own, the 7'3".  I bought it for 34.99 I think it was 3 seasons ago.  It is a very versatile stick! and definitely feel more on the heavy power side.  I was thinking about grabbing one or two them when they were clearanced at 59.99 at the end of the year.  Makes me wish I did.  I love the versatility of the rod/length. 

I have three Veritas 1s (7.5 MH, 7 M, and 6.5 M) and one Veritas 2 (7 M). The MH is a broom stick.  The Ms are great IMHO and I can easily toss 1.0 silent square bills and weightless plastics as far as I need.  If my Ms are what others call MH...

 

I have had 2 of the 7.5 MHs and both had tip top issues. The first one had the guide ring fall out, and when I returned it BPS was out of the 7.5 MH so I got a 7 M.  The second had the guide ring crack and half fall out last weekend.  I replaced that last night with a 6/64 Fuji tip top last night.  But, I guess since I've had the MH for close to two years, I should be happy with replacing a $2.50 tip top.

 

Anyway, I recommend getting some spare tip tops.  Other than that the rods are very sensitive, the Ms load extremely well, and the grips are holding up well.  Sometimes the hoods on the 1s stick because they're metal on metal, but the 2s have a click hood that doesn't seem to have the same problem.

One more question then, has anyone used both the Veritas and the Veracity(red)? Is the Veracity noticeably better then the Veritas?

I have a 2.0 cranking stick and it's pretty good. I used a 7' MH and it was a broomstick, I can attest to the overrating of the... rating. 

 

I would genuinely suggest them to any angler for anything but bottom contact. 

^ I'm very happy with my 7mh/f as a jig rod and my 7'11" flippin rod. I do not feel I'm missing anything in the bottom contact dept.

For the money the are a GOOD rod, I;m with the majority on the stiffness, but the micro guides.....plan on replacing a few!  I went to smokes which are lighter and relatively the same price...just my 2 cents

I have both the Vericity MH and Vertias MH, the Vericity to me has a softer tip then Vertias far as sensitivity goes not too much of a differance.Only ever had two vertias break on me one was hung in tree and i jerked to hard and boat kleet got the other one, both are good rods for the price.

Ah, the mighty jaws of the kleat...Many a good rod has been lost to the devils.

I have both, the veritas in the m and the veracity in the red mh.  I prefer the veritas personally.  I would not spend the extra on the veracity.

Broken a ton of microguides and had a ceramic insert crack yesterday. Junk!!!
