Gander Mountain Gsx Tournament Rod

I got to chance to fish this rod and was impressed.  I also tried the same branded reel out (not the combo set up, which oddly is a different rod and reel) and it was really nice.  The rod was hard to compare to anything else I have fished.  At $50, I can't imagine a rod that is as sensitive, light and as well made as this one.

One thing that though, it didn't have that cheap rod feel.  I guess the closest I would be able to compare it to, would be the Shimano Crucial but it would be a step below in quality.  I think at $50 it is a steal.

I have to agree with that. It's definitely much nicer than any $50 rod I've ever felt. I think it performs above its retail of $100, too.

I have the 7'6" MH casting rod, and I use it for c-rigs and frogs in medium cover, and it is a nice rod. I paid 100 for it, and i would compare it to a fenwick hmx ( which is a nice little rod ) I also have the GSX elite and they are quite a large step up in my opinion...

I think for $50 it's the best rod you're going to get.
