My total purchases in the last month have been 4 roostertails, 2 are still in the unopened package.  I'm catching fish everyday, so much for a bait monkey.

Around here, the only rush of fishermen you see once spring rolls around are the local trout fishermen who go trout fishing for the first week of the season, and then they never go near the water again the rest of the year.

Lol I am not the starter of the thread, but here in South Central KY we are getting our first good snow in several years. Looks like we will get 10-12 inches. I know that is nothing for you guys up north, but I would be happy if it never snowed again!

We get them here on this part of the state too. Somewhere on this internet thing there is a picture of a state stocking tankard truck unloading trout out of a tube and a guy wading in the water right next to it with his line in the water. LOL

It's so funny to me because this is exactly how skiers do it too.  Opening weekend there are huge crowds for 3 trails of death ice, and then in the spring when it's warm, sunny, there's tons of snow and you can ski in shorts the place is empty- Just like the fall bite can be super huge but so few are out fishing for it.  It's as if they were more in love with the idea of fishing/skiing than they are in real life.  Kinda cracks me up how quickly people get their fill in most cases.    

 

The places I like to go I rarely see anybody but me though, thankfully.  

Another side bar to this is, if you see what you want now buy it.  Wait till spring, and it might be on back order.
