Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
My daily carry is a Glock 35 with a Safariland 6390 leveled up with an ALS guard. When I am not working and I am carring on my persons I carry my back up gun a Taurus da 5 shot, but my duty pistol always stays close by. I get tired of all the weight I carry around my waist, so when I am not working the gun typically stays in the car.

classic faux pas
It was comical...I looked at my wife and said he runs for Evinrude...if I am thinking right he said he was running a Yamaha. He had an Evinrude hat and Evinrude smack dab in the middle of his jersey.

An Open Letter to B.A.S.S. Regarding the Classic
My wife and I attended the Classic for a 3rd straight year now. The venues in Houston were our least favorite of the three. Security at MinuteMaid was a major issue. There was a good deal of inconsistency with screening. We were in the life members, sponsors line etc etc and screening was not a harsh as general public lines. In one instance I had seen folks who came from the expo that were not allowed to bring in anything that contained hooks. For those parked close by it was no big deal, but those like my wife and I who were 8-10 blocks away it was not so handy. We arrived midday on Friday and spent only a little while at the expo before heading to the weigh-in. Having not settled into our hotel I was still carrying my concealed weapon. I am a peace officer here in Kentucky, working as a deputy sheriff and I am covered by the Federal Law Enforcement Safety Act that allows for carry throughout the United States. I carry a gun every day for work and honestly I do not carry it a lot when I am not working, so I am not one of those who is obsessed with carrying every single place that I go, but on this day I had it. Security treated me pretty darn bad through the whole process. I stepped to the side and asked for to speak with a supervisor, so that I could explain my situation. It was embarrassing when the supervisor made a scene, and I finally just had to ask to speak with a Houston PD officer. The PD officer was a transplant from the north to Houston, but he was exceptional. I showed him my law enforcement credentials and had me come on through the screening area. The supervisor for the security company still insisted on screening my bag and my wife's bags. She also wanted to know why I was going to be allowed to carry my pocket knife since that too was considered contraband. I had no objections with them searching, but the officer handled that issue and told her it wasn't happening and to drop the attitude. Days 2 and 3 I made sure to leave the gun in the room. Tulsa and Greenville had no such issues and the folks were awesome....just my experience.

Cedar Creek Lake, Kentucky Pre Spawn
There will be some fish that are shallow and it seems Cedar has fish shallow most of the year. The largest of the females will be long spawned out by May IMHO. Early May will have good fishing, but the big girls will have already spawned.

Cedar Creek Lake, Kentucky Pre Spawn
Even though the lake will not be drawn down...it seems that I am not catching the same fish that I previously have over the years. Yesterday I caught two four pound fish and today a five. Maybe things will pick up, but with the snow forecast and the cold temps this weekend it will likely turn things back off for a spell. Prime fishing for the spawn will be towards the end of march and early april. The end of April will be the tail end of the spawn. My experience on Cedar has been that the bigger fish fish will be caught early.

Large worms and setup
Any more it is rare that I just fish a Tex rig worm. My big worms are the Mann's Jelly Worm 12", Berkley 12" and the NewBait Cmac 11" & 15". The Mann's jelly worm is almost excursively rigged on a YUM Pumpkin ED shakey head 1/4 oz/3/8oz with 6/0 wide gap hook. When fishing the other worms I fish them on a jika rig with 5/0 or 6/0 hooks. These worms will produce a lot of fish from May- Sep in my area.

Am I walking into a craigslist scam?
This is a scam...The sheriff's office where I work has been dealing with something very similar, but it is primarily with cars. Another one our deputies contacted the seller posing as a buyer and there was a list of whoops that had to be jumped through. This involved almost the same story line accept with was with a very nice used, but in excellent shape, ford work truck. It is one of those interstate cases that will probably be hard to figure out. It always goes back to if it sounds too good.

Favorite road rage story?
I have seen the results of road rage one too many times in my profession. One of the more recent ones involved two OTR truck drivers who got got ticked at each other while driving over God really knows what. The instigator of the event was a Middle Eastern man and the other party was a white man from South Carolina. They ended up in one of our local truck stops and while the Middle Eastern man sat at a booth the while man came up behind him and put a small .25acp pocket pistol under his chin and couldn't get the gun to fire (it was a cheap Jennings that turned out to have a malfunction). The case ended up being turned over to Federal authorities because they are taking it as a hate crime because of racial slurs were used during the assault.

Run out of plastics?
This thread has inspired me to go through my plastics and get rid of all the stuff that I do not use. Somewhere along the lines I have gotten plastics that I just do not use or have never used. They will be up for sale soon LOL.

Jika Rig
I have had great success on this rig. The fish in my avatar was caught on jika rigged brush hog. It is a rig that works well with creatures, craws, lizards, and worms. One of the advantages that I like is when I am in heavy cover or in really thick grass I don't caught on the cover or grass like I would on shakey heads etc. They are simple to make, so if you want to try them out its not going to break the bank.

10"+ Straight tail worms...
I catch some big ol fish on the Mann's Jelly worm in the 12inch. Personally I fish them on the Pumpkin ED jig heads from YUM.

Realistic soft Craw baits?
The River 2 Sea stand up yabbies are actually a really good craw. The only major issue that I have is the exposed hook makes things a little more difficult if your fishing in an area with a lot of cover. There is a local river system that has several miles of nothing but a solid rock bottom and these craws work like a charm there.

Beginner's Luck!
It is always good to see someone in the fishing sport exposing a new person who has no real experience.

First for 2016 and PB Crankbait Bass
I completely forgot to mention the location...Cedar Creek Lake Lincoln County KY. LOL I was a little stoked I got that last fish in. It did not have a good hook set and it nearly got tangled up in a downed tree...it was a close close call.
