kb here  here is  a rod rack i made for rod with no reels to show off my wood rod handles ia'm making

first rod handle set on left  is cherry wood

second rod hard maple with a walnut strip down the middle

third rod-solid walnut

forth rod -red cedar and pine   these are the first i have tryed   kb

That is some kind of work both on the rod rack and the rod handles.  You are not really going to take those rods out and get those handles all mucked up are you?

I like all the rods but #4 is way cool. It reminds me of the chessboard I made back in 7th grade industrial arts class.

Just a question, Does the wood make the handle to heavy compare to cork?

Similarly to the last question about weight, what about durability of something like #4? Is that something you're going to have to be extra careful with? Could it hold up to 'reasonable' conditions?
