What Should I Use This Rod For?

Featured Replies

I have 2 rods with the same Specs.  7' MH Crankin Rods. One is the Daiwa Light and Tough and one is the Bass Pro Crankin Stick (older model).  I had the Crankin Stick but my Uncle talked up the Light and Tough so much that I got one when I could get a discount while I was fishing for my College Club.  SO now I have 2 7' MH Cranking Rods.  I use the Light and Tough all the time for my Deep Cranking and if something ever happens to it I can easily grab the Crankin Stick, but while the Light and Tough is still workin its magic, what do you all suggest I fish on the other one?  I really havent used it a whole lot in the past 2-3 years.  Thinking I will throw my bigger Square Bills and Maybe Chatterbaits on it. Is that a good idea or is there something better? Thanks yall

Anything with small trebles.  With the exception of jerk baits, IMO.

Yep, anything with treble hooks. I use actual mh rods for my chatterbaits because I set the hook a little bit harder than a crankbait.

Those crankin sticks run a little stuff for my liking. It would be a good "single hook" reaction bait Rod: spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swim jigs maybe.
