I really want a nice cooler. One that I throw in the back of my truck, but also carry to the dove field with me. I've been looking at them all. Kinda want something smaller, Just for drinks, lunch, and maybe some fish.

Somebody inevitably is going to get on here and post to get a Yeti.  And while I agree they are good coolers, and I have one of them as well as a Grizzly, know that if stored inside, they are so well insulated that the first bag of ice is going to melt.  Then once the cooler is down to temperature, they will hold ice for days.  The other thing, is because of all the insulation, they are heavy!  And the storage room in them is less for the same reason.

I have a Coleman xtreme. It's a fraction of the cost of the yeti. Still keeps ice cold for plenty long for me

I want a Yeti, but I can't afford one right now or in the foreseeable future.  Getting into the "popular priced" coolers, I own a few Coleman and Igloo ones.  In my experience the Coleman ones hold ice longer than the igloo ones do.

 

I own an older Coleman Extreme model, one of the silver grey/white models.  In the middle of summer, it keeps ice for a day or so (I know they say 5 days, that's a lie) and beverages will stay cool enough to be drinkable for another day or so.   Longer in the spring and fall.

 

I keep trying to talk myself into one of those retro-styled steel belted coolers, but I'm having trouble getting past the C-note price.

Also just know that the best cooler color to get is Blue.  Just trust me on that!

All the top of the lines brands like Yeti, Grizzly, Engel & ORCA are very heavy due to the container thickness.

I've got the Engel 65 and leave it cable locked in the back of my truck. It's too heavy to move around very often.
