Very Happy With Flurocarbon

Featured Replies

I used straight flurocarbon 20lb for punching grass today and I loved it much more than braid. I like the fact it was smoother and easier to get through the cover than with braid. I was also shocked with the amount of sensitivity I got. It was great.

Are you sure it is easier to get through cover than braid? From what I know, Braid cuts right through moderate cover. Also, what type of Fluoro were you using?

You'll like it until you lose a real big one in that stuff. Best to stick with braid.

I can't imagine it's easier to get through considering braid cuts through grass, while fluoro is too thick to do that.

Coolbeans man. I hear a lot of guys switch to fluoro if they think the zipping noise of braid against vegetation is spooking fish. Also vegetation with wood.braid digs into wood. Heard fluoro has better sensitivity on the fall.

It has its benefits, but I'd feel much better with 65 pound braid when pinning an 8 pounder under a mat. Oh and braid is much easier to tie Snell knot with than flouro.

Also braid has a texture to it that helps slice vegetation (especially lily pads) but the smaller diameter helps too.

Happy you found a good flouro that works well for you. I use 15 because the cover I have is not so bad. Tight lines
