Has anyone heard of or used this?

Stumbled across it online and it looks interesting.

Basically you Texas rig a ribbon or cut tail worm in the middle. Then you insert a dry wall screw into the head of the worm.

It should be rigged with the point of the hook pointing towards the tail.

Looks really interesting.

Never heard it referred to as a chicken rig ... it looks like a Neko Rig.

 

Great rig with finesse worms, Damiki Hydras, Yamamoto Ika's etc.  Played with it some ... caught on it just by casting it out, letting it hit bottom and then fishing it like a shakey head ... drag, jiggle, jiggle.

My thoughts exactly. A heavy Neko rig, sort of like bubba-shotting

A chicken rig has any number of hooks tied to a leader with a sinker on the bottom, primarily used with cut bait. Another type of chicken rig would be a sabiki, used to catch live bait.  In freshwater it's called a drop shot rig.
