Just wondering why Bret Hite chose the song, "take me to church" for his entrance to the classic weigh in. After seeing the songs video and listening to the words leaves me confused about his choice. Not sure what his reasoning was with such a controversial song.

Maybe he likes the song? 

Needs more Priest and/or Maiden. 

Also, as someone who looked up that song/video thanks to this post, I'd recommend maybe avoiding it. It'll leave you bummed out for one reason or another.

If there's anything you shouldn't overthink from the Classic, it's the pros choice of songs.

I believe I heard at the Classic his first choice was "Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Goal Posts of Life" but BASS made him change it.

 

Not sure so don't hold me to it.

My issue with Hite is his main sponsors don't make anything I can easily add to my arsenal.

It may be one of those situations where he likes the music and the main part of the chorus & is oblivious to the words of the rest of the song.  I think most have us have had a song that we hummed in our head & later were astonished by the lyrics & their meaning.

 

Either that or he hates Catholicism...
