Pub Subs

Featured Replies

I'm fairly new to the south, and have found the best subs in world.  You may think they at some roadside sandwhich place or a family owned restraunt, but no they inhabit the bakery section at Publix.  They absolutely put every other sandwhich place to shame.  They use quality ingredients, it's always super clean, and they are actually nice.  I get the same thing everytime: a whole turkey on 9 grain bread with pepper jack cheese, mayo, lettuce, onions, pickles, jalepenoes, and oil/vinegar.  Why mess with perfection?  The only reason I'm telling you is because, I'm a nice guy.  Stop going to second rate sandwhich chains who care less if you enjoy your lunch.  Go to Publix, where the bread isn't banned in Europe.

I agree the subs at Publix are great.

It's a georgia thing for real.... i moved here from NC and thought people were crazy.  but when you give them a shot, you realize what you've been missing.

Big C, do yourself another favor on your next trip.  grab some of the mardi gras wings in same deli section, you'll thank me later.  they're some kind of dry rub baked wing that is too good to come from a grocery store.

publix is where it's at.

When I had my first home in North Miami around 1980 the publix had a dine in deli.

never seen a publix. but there used to be a shop-rite grocery store at smith mtn lake that made a hell of a sub, the woman hooked me up too. sad to see that place closed.

Dude I love the Mardi Gras wings I had some Super Bowl Sunday.  They are better than any other chicken wing I have ever had.

Now that this came up again, I'm curious, how much do they get for that sandwich?  There are like 6 different sub sandwich chain shops in my area. Only one of them has very reasonable prices and good food.

Pub subs, the best there are without a doubt. Theyre like $6.50 if you go with boars head. Halochef..Primanti bros is incredible as well, but they're different categories Id' say

I was headed to publix a couple weeks ago, out of the corner of my eye I saw a subshop in the same plaza. Being that I was tired and didn't want to stand in line at publix I walked in the sub shop, by far the BEST sub I have had. Been there 6 times in the last two weeks.

Big C, you need to go to Louisiana and have a po boy.

A real po boy on real French bread "loaded" with the "debris" on it.

Then grab a Barq's, sit down, and eat like you have nine rectums.

Best sandwich in the world.

Hit Serio's downtown and check out all of the football helmets on the wall while you pass a good time.

I also recommend Publix subs. I love their Italian sub and also the Ruben sandwich. Here's a tip: Go online to the Publix website and you can place your order on-line for subs or even deli meat. Tell them when you want it ready and then when you get to the store it is waiting for you in a special location. No more standing in line.

Publix ultimate subs is where it's at. On their 5 grain Bread, it's amazing. Lowes food also makes excellent subs but I've only seen them in NC. Primanti bros are great as well.
