This thread is amazing, so many beautiful pictures. A good reminder to appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature, and of how badly I want to fish..

Splitting fuel and other costs with a regular partner
I normally fish alone. But when I'm in the skiff and invite a friend (either dad, brother or 1 friend) I expect nothing, and decline all offers of money. I'd rather not fish with you guys who expect pay.

Budget Spinning Gear Around The 100$ Price Point
If I was getting a spinning combo for $100-120 and only using it for bass, I'd buy a Shimano Sienna or Solstace for $30/40, and spend the rest on a good rod. And a good rod means whatever rod in your price range feels best in your hands. I used a Shimano Clarus(back when they were $70) and a Sienna 2500 for years with 10# PowerPro.

Costa Del Mar
Can't beat Costas. Brines fit me best, so I wear those in 580G green mirror, But the Harpoon would be my choice if they fit well, the metal hinges are really nice.

Redfish On Plastics?...
Redfish will hit anything a bass will hit. Although spoons, topwaters and Gulp are common lures, I know a guy who frequently catches redfish on Senkos

General Redfish Info?
Baitcasting tackle will work just fine. Anythinf you use for bass really. I use 7-7'6'' medium and ML spinning tackle. My most effective techniques have been: gold spoons run through flooded marsh grass heddon one knockers drifting the open flats bouncing a paddletail assassin on oyster bars and the best redfish bait: cut mullet under a popping cork

Pub subs, the best there are without a doubt. Theyre like $6.50 if you go with boars head. Halochef..Primanti bros is incredible as well, but they're different categories Id' say

Basic Salt Water Set Up
SirSnookAlot gives great advice like always. I fish primarily north florida flats for reds and trout, with bass fishing as more of a backup plan. I use 7'6" ml and m rods (depending on application) with 10# braid and 20# FC leader for 90% of my setups, and have caught everything from overslot reds to small Sharks with no problem. The key is a good drag and good line and fresh leader. I use 7' mh rods for live bait though, which is what I'd be throwing if I was pier or shore fishing.

Tires
Another recommendation for BFGoodrich All Terrains. The only tire I'll ever buy again. I had a set of 305s with 15k miles on them I paid $800 for with aftermarket 18" runs. After another 60k miles and a valve stem failure at 75mph, all four still had at least a quarter tread left. Sold them for $600 and now I'm running 285s. 30k miles and no measurable tread depth loss.

Best April Lures
Thanks for the replies. I need to learn shakey head anyways, so this is as good a time as any. Never heard of LL Howell but I'll check them out. Can't say ive used watermelon creme but I used to make a living on watermelon black flake senkos and ikas. I'll be trying some wacky rigging this year too. Less of a trip and more of a move haha. I'm in the area from April-September every year. Edit: Are the LL Howells that good? I had my eye on Rapala DT4s and 6s.

Best April Lures
I'm going back home to northeastern massachusetts roughly the first week of April. I used to catch lots of bass on my local lakes but haven't fished nearly as much the last 2-3 seasons. The tackle box I keep there is nearly empty, so I'd like to get a TW order ready for April fishing, and I'll make more as the season progresses. So my question is: what should be in my first order? I have a 7' m f spinning setup and a 6' m f baitcaster, and i predominately bank fish early mornings before work and late at night after work. So far I have my go-to's: 5' senko in watermelon/black flake, fat ikas in watermelon/black flake, and a bag of 7' tequila sunrise power worms. All opinions appreciated!
