Copolymer Line Question

Featured Replies

need to order some line today. i like mccoy copoly. last year i rigged 3 setups with 12lb and 15lb. 12lb for topwater and spinnerbaits and cranking and 15lb for texas rigs. should i go a little lighter or does it make much difference?

If it worked for you last year, this year should be no different.  Although my personal preference would be to throw the spinnerbait on the 15lb and the texas rigs on the 12.

I tend to do 12 for jigs. But this year might switch to 10lb since I'm making the switch to yo zuri hybrid. The lighter you can get away with the better

I'd probably do 12lb for jigs unless I was flipping into wood in which case I'd go with the 15lb.

Agreed with KVD

McCoy CBF is the only copolymer I use. I generally use 10lb on spinning gear and crankbaits. 15lb for jigs, crigs, spinnerbaits.

I throw trebles on 12 and single hooks on 15.

Finesse stuff on 10.

I've used the Extra Clear McCoy Copoly for the last 2 years. On my Largemouth rigs I use 12lb. on move baits, 15lb. on bottom contact baits, and 25lb. on the Big Swimbait Rods. It's some fantastic stuff. Brian.
