Skippingbaits

Using a baitcast reel what is your favorite bait to skip, and the line you skip with ? God Bless & Thanks

An arkey head jig 1/2 O/Z with 14-15 pound flouro or copolymer.

Good question.  Skipping docks and other cover is something I am planning on working on this year.  I have bought a few Siebert arkey head jigs.  Just need to know if there is a certain line I need to use.  I was looking to go to about 15lb fluoro.  As soon as our pond out back thaws out, I'll be out there giving it a try.

I just searched this thread under skipping settings. There are some good post in there.

You can really skip anything, but the trick is too keep it low to the water from the start of you cast.

i love skipping the davis baits bill lower swim jig 1/4oz in bream

chattahoochee jigs 1/2 jig. on 20lb sunline sniper fc. I also skip buzzbaits and spinnerbaits pretty well with the right trailer

Mostly swimbaits and jigs.  Hard to skip lures with trebles.  The hooks just kill the momentum. (I tried it today...nasty backlashes).

I like to keep it around the 1/4 to 3/8 oz range for what I'm skipping. I use the All Terrain Skip N Jig but I will be trying Siebert's arkys here soon

I mainly skip jigs with a baitcaster. I don't have a favorite rod/reel/line, just use whichever I'm using that day.
