Waking Up In Va

Still waiting on the big girls to show themselves but the dinks are starting to feed and cooperate for us. Lots of fish are sunning and un-catchable  :mad5: , but I have found a few willing to eat. Redeye shad has been the bait of choice, a few on texas rigged finesse worms as well. Forecast is looking good for this week, shouldn't be long before the smaller waters develop a good bite. GET READY!

Anybody else doing much in VA?

I haven't done much in the last few weeks.

And before that, only some bank fishing with

a bud.

All the ice is gone off our reservoirs, some

nicer, warmer weather down here, but I've

not hit out in the kayak. Plan too soon, tho.

Been biting at the bit to get out!!

I've seen a lot of sunning fish during these very warm days myself. Haven't had a chance to fish for them much but they do just seem to be soaking up the sun instead of feeding, pretty frustrating!

I went fishing last Monday and didn't catch anything......

Targeted this past weekend as my big 2015 debut....and then came down with a horrible cold....going to have to wait another week

Went out yesterday (SOMD) and it was pretty windy and with all the rain Saturday visibility was literally and inch or two.  Got skunked but nice to get out.

I'm 25 miles north of Allentown PA. Yesterday (Sunday 3/15/15) I took the very short trip to the launch ramp on Beltzville Lake to have a look see. The ice extends all the way to the shore and the lake is 100% ice covered still. A small amount of slush on top but ice for as long as you can see. Some parts of the  lake had over 20" of ice this year.

I haven't checked any of the other lakes and ponds in the area. The rivers and creeks have some open water but still some ice cover. You are lucky in VA.
