Lake Anna

Featured Replies

I have a tournament on lake Anna in 3 weeks but I don't know much about the place. I've hea the water temperatures can vary a lot from one end of the lake go the other. Can anyone give me any information about the lake?

Id recommend going out with Mccotter and take advantage of his guide knowledge, i bet he knows lake anna better than anyone

I'm sure others who know more about the lake will chime in but normally I visit Anna a few times a year. Definitely not my favorite lake. The last few times I visited I launched near the rt.208 bridge.  The water in that area is sometimes very clear, 10-15ft vis, and pretty deep. I have had the best luck running to the northwestern portions of the lake where it thins out a bit and is much more shallow. In the northwestern part I have found a good variety of boat docks, trees, and other fish holding cover. As far as navigating the lake just use good sense, off the top of my head I cant think of any areas that eat props or skegs, if you stay in the middle in most areas you should be fine.  Hope this helps.

Yea...unfortunately Anna got such a good rep with keepers that so many large bass have been jacked over the years. Now, its more baitfish than anything and its just getting worse every year. One Fish Anna !
