I have a tournament on lake Anna in 3 weeks but I don't know much about the place. I've hea the water temperatures can vary a lot from one end of the lake go the other. Can anyone give me any information about the lake?

It was good besides the wind. didn't really get to do that much fishing, but the little that I did do I caught 2 large mouth and one small mouth all three around to pounds on a Strike King KVD 1.0 chartreuse black back.

Hey, I know it's been a long time since we talked about this but I'm thinking about floating the Staunton tomorrow in a canoe from Leesville. what do you recommend throwing this time of year? And how long is the float from below the dam to goose creek?

Can someone please tell me if a bass boat with a larger than 9.9 motor is allowed on Briery creek lake as long as you only use your trolling motor? And would it even be worth it with only the trolling motor?

i know alot are caught right below the dam. thats why i thought that stretch might be good.

Do you ever catch any stripers in the staunton? Ive thought about trying for them from goose creek down to altavista.

where were you fishing? i fished yesterday morning up blackwater and only had one topwater bite. then nothing on a rig. ended up catching several 1.5ers around and under docks on a wacky senko. but nothing else

topwater bite was on at smith mountain lake this morning. lost another one this size half way to the boat.

what part of the lake do you do your catfishing? and what do you look for?

i'm definitely not one to say my fish is bigger than it was. i have one ove those rapala digital scales you can buy at walmart and it read 5lb 2oz and it was 20 inches long. and i'd say before she laid her eggs she was atleast 5 and a half.

this fish was dead for a while. started to stink. va requires you to tag your lines and check them daily

but on another note, from the looks of the bottom of her tale and as skinny as she was, it looks like she just dropped her eggs.

yeah, i'm pretty sure it was a flathead. i found one dead on somebody's limb line last summer that would easily go 40 pounds. made me sick!!! i cut every line i find now.

caught this five pounder yesterday morning on a kvd 2.5 sexy shad at smith mountain lake. It looks like something bigger tried to eat it. You can see the marks on both sides. Had to have been something huge, like a flathead or something.

I'm thinking about trying it. I've never been on leesville. How's the fishing on it?

Just curious of everyone's personal strategies, tips, or techniques for finding bass when your fishing a new place. I am kind of new to fishing from a boat and alot of times when I'm fishing I feel like I'm just throwing in empty water.
