I'm pleased to announce the 7th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip will be held at Lake Guntersville, Alabama, April 22-27, 2012!!

The lake should be at the peak of spring fishing at this time, and is expected to be fantastic! The fishery is very diverse, offering largemouth and smallmouth bass, as well as many other popular species.

Meet the mods and I as well as everyone on the boards in-person. And of course, everyone will be up to their fun antics!

I'm already working out the logistics of this. Its an 8hr trip. I want to go again in 2012. If someone wants to share a room with us it would help out alot!!!

Will anyone be there on Saturday? I'm looking at going from Sat-Wed.

I have always wanted to make one of these. This looks like my chance since it is close. I can't be there the whole time but think I will try to get over there for one day or something. Would be nice to meet many of you in person.

Hasn't Alabama had enough tornadoes? I feel sorry for the good southern folk of the area. For we are the sign of the coming apocalypse. Winds will howl snow will fall and floods will wash out the crops. Now if these things don't come to pass we must check our roster of attendees and ban who didn't make it this year for he is the responsable party. I'm looking at you long Mike!

I'll probably be there as long as the warden lets me out again this year. I've been good, so she should (I hope). I'll probably be looking for someone to jump in my truck and share the expenses too. (Lund Explorer, Otey, Uncle Leo, or anyone else interested that doesn't have a peanut sized bladder may apply). It's about 10 hours from my house.

I am going to try to make it to this event, how’s the fishing arragement made? For someone who doesn’t own a Bass boat, do we just pair up with someone or rent?

Lee, historically we have always had more empty boat seats than butts to put in them. Don't worry about not having a boat. We try to move the non-boaters around so that they have a chance to fish with as many people as possible. Among other things, we use the Registration form to determine who has seats available and who needs them.

12 hour drive, plus hotel, plus food... We shall see how my income fares.

I'm retired. It's a twelve hour drive, plus round-trip fuel for my Suburban, plus fuel for the boat, plus hotel, plus food, plus the booze, plus the dancing girls. I will take out a second-mortgage on my house before I have to miss this trip. The annual BR trip Rocks!

I don't think a few boxes of wine will make much of a dent in your savings but the heart medicine for when the dancing girls arrive will be the killer for you old friend.

I'm going to be there if I don't have any guiding jobs. I can't afford to make reservations and then cancel them so I'll need to find a campground close by.

The State park is about ten minutes away from Val Monte and by then they'll be open for camper here's there number 256-571-5455 if you can't get them pm me i'll help anyway I can

Ooooh the temptation! I need to sit down and take a long hard look at what jobs I've got booked and what bids are out for that time of the year.

I want to go catch me a few Guntersville bass.....

I've got ten gallons of homemade strawberry wine and two gallons of white whiskey i'll donate to the BR bunch that'll help with the expenses

Got a few scheduling conflicts to work out, but I'm going to try.

As far as cost goes, does anybody want to match what it would cost me to leave the War Dept home this year? The old girl doesn't have many vacation days left for her year(Sep - Aug) which is going to be issue #1. On top of that, you guys already know she outfished me last year hawg wise, so you can try to match the ration of **** I'll get for leaving her at home!

Try to bring a friend or hook up with another member

in your area so you can split some costs. Overall,

four or five days of fishing shouldn't be more than

$600-$700 or so.

Shared lodging $50/day X 5 = $250

Alabama fishing license $46

Food $20 X 5 $100

Gas (?) $100

Minimum cost ~$500

Poor Long Mike, crying poverty. He's got an alarm system on his boat that makes Fort Knox green with ***.

Heck, it probably cost more than it would to replace his "tin can". Alas, love has no price tag. Nothing is too good for his "baby".
