Best Time/place To Use Senkos/yum Dingers?

Featured Replies

Hey all. I was wondering what everyone's preferred method of fishing a yum dinger/senko/stick bait was. When do you most often use them and where? How do you like to rig it and fish it? Thank you!

Anywhere anytime. Huge confidence bait and easy to make into a confidence bait. I weightless texas rig it, or wacky.i literally fish them every time out anywhere

Wacky rig all day every day!

Anytime! Usually if I'm not catching anything, I'll get something on a stick bait. I used to t rig them but now I mainly wacky rig them, I find you get a much better action on the fall. Both ways catch loads of fish tho, that's just my preference.

Anytime, any place.  I like to wacky rig and flick shake them.  It's my go to technique, sissy stick or not, it catches fish for me and they are not small.  I caught a 7.5lber last week doing the wacky dance.

I'm pretty much like everyone else. I primarily wacky rig them, soI'll use a Senko just about anywhere under 8-10 feet.  We got one lake around here where you can take this canal back to a pond. Talk about a confidence booster for senkos/stick baits.  You can throw just about anything out there, crank baits, dropshot, or anything else you can think of and maybe catch a few fish.  Throw a wacky rig Senko and you won't stop catching them.

I don't fish senkos now as much as I used to. Normally when I do I t-rig them. Almost never wacky.

I fish banks exclusively. Will a wacky senko produce shallow?

Absolutely! My favorite method of using a wacky

Rigged senko or trick worm this time of year.

Do you use the "wacky" hooks? I saw some at Gander Mountain the other day. Are they any good?

Lol I just looked at a bunch of options on TW. The ones I saw at the store were the weedless Gamakatsu hooks. What size is best, or are they mainly one size?

There are many, many sizes. If those are the Gammys w nylon weed guard, I didn't care for those. I have never broke a owner mosquito, never bent one either.. For me, the best is owner.

But I would encourage you to try a hook you like,

A brand you trust and go from there..

Any time the water is wet ;)

I use when fish are shallow. Wacky rigged with o-ring and weedless hook. I almost always use a skip cast with spinning rod and straight 20# PP braid. Up under docks, overhanging trees/bushes, etc

Thanks for all the input guys! Lots of great advice so far. I appreciate it, I will definitely be using them more often. My preferred method of fishing for big largemouth is usually a Zoom trick worm on a spot remover 1/4 ounce shaky head, but I am just now getting into Senkos more because of all of the hype they have been getting.

all year round!!! :)
