On a 7'rod casting rod using alconite guides, when would you switch from casting to bridge to fly guides I was thinking

casting 12  BLNAG

casting 10  BLNAG

casting 8    BLNAG

bridge  8    BUNAG

bridge  7    BUNAG

fly       6    BLAG  X4

What would you change?

I don't use bridge guides... in fact I think they less stable than the BLAG's.

how about the first 4 casting and then the last 5 fly?

i think, but could be wrong (felchero??) but the rod i made has all fly

In a conventional wrap I would run .

stripper = BLNAG10J

#1 running = BUNAG8J

all running to tip top = BLAG7J

number of guides dependant on static flex test...

If a simple bumper style spiral..

stripper = BLNAG10J

bumper = BLAG7J set 90° right or left (dependant on reel handle)

running guides (dependant on line dia)= BLAG6J or BLAG5.5J to tip top
