gillcrackers!  a lot of people catch these and mistake them for regular old bluegill.  very cool little fish and they fight like champs on lite tackle.

 

 

I think I've seen some of those in one of the ponds I fish. They get pretty big. They tend to rip the skirts off my jigs. They bite hard.

I can't help it, I've spent so many nights fishing for flatheads, that's all I can think about when I see some nice, big sunfish.
