Savage Gear Line Thru 3D Swimbait 6" Floating - Alternatives?

Featured Replies

I have kind of been obsessed with swim baits lately. I want to find a soft swim bait that runs surface to maybe 1' Can anyone think of one single alternative to the Savage Gear Floating?

Just a heads up, I love fishing the Line Thru's especially the 8", but wasn't impressed with the action of the 6".  Not a good slow wind bait from what I experienced nor did it have the nice kick of the 8".  This is my opinion from my experience, just figured I'd give you a heads up before hand.  But had the same idea you did, just didn't pan out the way I wanted it to.

Hudd rof 0, castaic catch22/platinum. there's a lot of others.

3:16 lure co. 8" rising sons. Ive been running them right at the surface and getting alot of followers and caught this piggy on one, awesome baits!

I have several of the 6", mine swim very well both the sinking and floating models. I love the option to rig them as a top hook or bottom hook bait.

It's true they don't kick as hard as the 8", but it's a lot smaller bait so it doesn't have the same surface area to produce as much kick. I'm fine with that because it's a more subtle presentation.

Mine float on the surface and look like they're going to be deadly little baits.

Well I may give them a go have a gift card for tackle warehouse.

You could always just buy the floater and add 1/32 tungsten nail weights to tune it to your desired ROF.

Easier to make a floating bait sink than a sinking bait float.

As a 6" no, you would have to bump up to the 8" to find the ROF 0.

The new Hudd gill rof 5 wakes if you slow roll it and keep your rod tip high. At least mine does. More like a rof 2
