Duckett Ghost Rod

Featured Replies

I am looking at getting a medium heavy Duckket Ghost Rod for my jigs, T Rigs, spinnerbaits, and Flukes. How is this Rod if you have used it before?

I wish I had some input for ya. But I'm very interested in responses. And curious what the real deal is on these rods and braid?

I have more ghosts returned where i work than anything. For the same price i'd rather have the new veritas 2.0s.

If you don't get the Duckett rod. The 2 other best rods in that price range, I would look at, are the "*** - *** Black" and the "Abu Garcia - Veritas 2.0"

Best to worse IMO:

1) *** Black

2) Veritas 2.0

3) Ghost

I have one.  They're extremely light (I would call it surprisingly light), with good backbone.  I have mine paired with a Revo sx and 30 lb power pro.  No complaints so far.

Something just draws me to these rods. I'm super pleased with my halo rods. But I still wana try a duckett

I have a ghost 7'3"  heavy i use for jigs. My only complaint would be that the handle is longer than I prefer, other than that its a good rod.

I have two ducketts not real thrilled with them. The 30 days is almost up and they are going back.

I have a 6'8" mh ghost and I use it for pretty much the same things you intend to use your step up for. The rod is super light and I could fish with it all say without much fatigue. I have fished some decent sized jigs with it too and really set the hook well in the fish. Great overall rod. I have mine paired up with a Lews lfs reel. Great combo!

Love my Ghost and want another....store where I bought mine said he has only had one returned and he sells a bunch.  Anglers must  be less abusive in this area!?

If I liked a certain rod well enough, I'd try it even though some are reporting breakage.....provided it was a model that could be returned.  Naturally buying it in store would be the preferred method for such a rod so as to avoid the hassle of shipping it back and waiting for a new one to arrive.  The Ghost is a rod I would like to try.  Most people are impressed with it.  Personally I've never had a rod break while fishing.  I have broken one, but that was from falling face first into a rock pile.  Not exactly the rod's fault.  :eyebrows:
