aaron martens scoundrel

Featured Replies

i have been using AM's scoundrel for a while now and i love them. my question is does anyone know hwere i can buy the plastic that is used for the vibrating part of the jig? after several fish, the plastic rips and the hook is still plenty good. any help would be  great. thanks in advance.

you might try using some 1/32 inch thick polycarbonate (lexan), you can heat with a lighter to make the cup face.   The polycarbonate will not tear and should last several yrs.   You can find the stuff at micromark tools and other hobby stores.   It's used a lot on model airplanes.

thanks BM. is this lexan pliable (sp)?

The thin stuff is somewhat pliable but you may can soak it in hot water for minute and make it more pliable.

I have really wanted to try one of those jigs.

Big M, I dont think that lexan would work. I think that the blade has to be very pliable so that it lays down when you set the hook.

got any suggestions fourbizz? what is the name of that type of material/plastic?

You might try going to Lowe's in the plumbing section. Look at the bulk tubing section. there is some clear tubing that may be cut up to work.

No idea what it is. Sorry

Look around the house at bottles. Windex, laundry soap, hand lotion, or what have you might work.

never held one before, but it looks like some kind of PVC to me.
