Swimbaits are becoming huge in the fishing world around the country, what is the best Gear Ratio for a deps 250 or a 68 hudd. Best Rod, Reel (ratio) set up in your opinions ! Shoot

You're probably not going to be able to get away with the same combo for a Deps 250 as you are for a 68 Hudd. Something in a high 5's to mid 6's in gear ratio is probably going to be optimum. 

That is 2 different rods. You could thow a 8" hudd on the same rod as a 250 though. But that also is better as 2 rods with different actions. If I had to pick one it would be the faster action to drive home the jig hook on hudds and you can still hook fish on trebles. For reels I guess a slow ratio best for hudds like a 5:4 and for glides a you want a faster one like a 7:1.

I fish glides on a 7:1 mostly.

 

I fish hudds on a 6 or slower.
