Glad to know emery they attack them I will have to go back and try it out again

Oh also right now dicks has buy two frogs get one free of the booyah brand if anyone interested.

Retrieve with the rod tip up. When they explode, drop the tip. Count to 3 while reeling up the slack. Then set the hook

Yes the instinct to set hook at bite is hard to break a lesson I am learning slowly.  Last couple days have been fishing that pond behind campus on 55th in Haysville.  Does anyone know if the fish are stunted in there?  Seems like its just tiny ones nothing to big but I really like fishing it seems like ideal place for some big ones

This is what keep pulling out of that 55th place seems to average

Well went to Emery to try frogs out this am and with the wind and rain I ended up just leaving

Anyone fished Kingman SFL for pike lately? I, years ago when I was still in high school, went out there and hit the areas around the island in the morning with buzzbaits and frogs and caught some pretty nice pike when we were targeting bass. I've been wondering if they're still in there and if so are people having luck in the summer heat. Anyone have any input?

Hit emery again to try frogs no luck. Did however get this little one on a bait I found while at nature center. Never used these rattle cranks or any cranks before and got this off first cast. Then nothing next hour or so haha.

That's a Storm Subwart. Awesome little wake bait that's unfortunately no longer in production. Lots of guys would probably pay well over retail for it. Personally, I'd keep fishing it but lose the snap swivel to get the full potential out of it.

I like the swivel because I swap out baits alot.  Until I can end up getting another bait caster Ill be keeping it this way.

Ya I agree lose the swival. It affec the action of the bait. I never use swivals only takes a minute to tie a good knot.

It only takes a couple extra seconds to tie a bait on versus using a snap and it's a good way to help prevent break offs due to frayed line. At the very least I'd suggest going to just a good duolock snap and losing the swivel. The swivel serves no purpose and if you've never had that cheap brass snap open up while fighting a fish, it's just a matter of time. A snap serves basically the same purpose a split ring so you can always remove the split rings off the nose of your bait and clip onto them that way to keep the action as true as possible.

hit up Watson park yesterday and struck out.  We have had luck few times but last two or three times no bites nothing

Well haha you had to say that about the swivel didnt lose a fish but the barrel on swivel broke and I lost a frog fishing yesterday.  Haha never had a problem so thanks for jinxing me.  Looks like be direct tie ons from now on

Derby High Park caught 3 this morning north of the bridge on west side. Using purple buzz bait was hesitant with topwater, but it worked out. Didn't fish the shallow south side I walked across it 4 months ago. Best bet IMO is north end.

Sorry to hear that but like I said, it's just a matter of time. Good snaps won't open, so if you want to save time retying just make sure you get a good Duolock snap to try to prevent it from happening again. You don't have to buy expensive ones, their design alone prevents them from opening while fighting a fish.

Did everyone give up in July? I'm gonna get an early start this year.

I was going until everything froze.  Right now just fighting urges to keep buying stuff haha. Planning on trying out new stuff for me this year and getting away from my go to baits.
