Forgive me of being ignorant of tourney fishing. I guess some guys follow it like Nascar or football, lol. I am going to follow it some this year.

 

Curious if there are famous tourneys where somebody has come back with a big limit final day to squeak out a win. Or a famous shootout win.

 

Also, do you have any fun wins or dismal losses where you experienced a heartbreaker?

Bassmaster Classic 2014. Randy Howell came back from 5th place on the beginning of the final day on a decision to go crank a specific point, I believe near a bridge if I remember right... And as Livingston swears, he also won on his decision to tie on the DMC... But we all know that's not 100% true.

Same tourney Paul Muller nearly came back and one. He got second after a terrible first day. He set a record for heaviest one day catch on day two to cone back

2004 classic.

Ike's last minute heroics come to mind as well as Tak's. Both in the Classic.

1988 Megabucks; Larry Nixon caught the winning fish in front of Tommy Martin for the win!

Yep, he was throwing with a TDZ and a Chartruse w black back Bagley squarebill, brass- wire thru bait.. Not like today's models.. Cool way to win!

Tak's win was probably one of the best come from behind tournament victories ever. That 3 fish in a row flurry and the overwhelming sense of joy I felt for the guy when he got to hold that trophy. It was truly a great American story, not just bass fishing. The guy came to America with nothing, lived in his car, decided to make a living catching a little green fish, then in 5 minutes and 3 cast he won the tournament that sealed the deal for him to turn his dream into reality. 

 

 

On the other end of the spectrum, you have Jim Bitter, who's name is terribly appropriate.
