Lightweight Baitcaster

Featured Replies

So I was in search of something that can cast lightweight lures (1/8 oz) and I came across this combo. I teamed up a lightweight spincasting rod by southbend with a bass pro crappie baitcaster. Spooled with 4 lbs test I can throw 1/8 oz comfortably. Here's a video of me throwing everything from 1/8 to 3/16 oz crankbaits. Thanks BR for the resources.

Not bad... Lew's makes nice reels that will cast light stuff, but you got it!

thats a honey hole.

I love the little pond in the video

Nice video, found your link from your rod thread.  I purchased the ML crankin stick and like it so far for the KVD 1.5's.

Hell of a pond you have there!

Got the ML too. Great for throwing lures above 1/4 oz.

I think tomorrow that will I put my Conquest 50 with Avail shallow spool on a Zebco 33 rod with a 1/8oz Rapala Floater and see how it performs.

How was it? Did it balance well?

The BPS Maxx Mightly lite is lightweight and it balanced well with the rod. This made it easier to case with one hand.
