Anybody got any tips on small weedy lakes. I live up in New Hampshire and I want to hear how people fish these kinds of lakes, where fish are according to the season and the main forages they rely on.

 

How small is small?

Again, how small is small? And how weedy is weedy? The type of weeds matter as well. 

 

 

More often than not, if the weeds are too thick, don't fish through the weeds, fish OVER the weeds. Topwater lures can be a good start, regardless of size or weed types. 

If the weeds aren't too thick pull a fluke or a senko across the top and let the bait fall into the breaks in the vegetation.  If there are no breaks then use a frog.

When I mean small I mean 60 to 300 acres. The weeds are all over the bottom. A lot of milfoil some submerged and floating around the edges. Not many rocks are found. One here and there. 

 

I'd go frogs for sure. It doesn't have to be the hollow body frogs either. There's a ton of variety out there. If the surface of the water isn't completey covered in weeds, I'd throw a Zara Spook as well. Btw, if there's heavy weeds on the surface and you go w/the frog, make sure you have heavy duty braid line, at least 40# test or so and a 7 foot med-heavy rod.

I recommend frogs, weightless senko and light t rigged havoc pit boss. You can clear weeds off a t rig with a little pop of the rod.
