Chuck woolery MOTO lure????????

Featured Replies

What is the deal with these lures? I have seen them all over Ebay and people are grabbing them up like they are "PURE BASS GOLD". Does anyone use these? Do they work?

I saw them at the local fishing show and they screamed gimmick.  That said, maybe that's what the pros are all using, but they're just not telling us!  ;D

I thought the name chuck woolery was a joke - you know, a fuzzy/wooly lure you're supposed to chuck out there. But it's really Chuck Woolery on the package. What the heck is the host of Love Connection doing hocking lures? They look like junk. I'll probably have to buy a half dozen... j/k

I watched an episode of Charlie Moore (back before ESPN pillaged the Saturday fishing line up) and Cahrlie had to fish with Chuck's lures as part of the challenge.  Don't know if it is the one listed here.  Of course, Charlie was amazed when the product worked out.

Don't you dare sully the name of Chuck Woolery!  He so rightly deserves to be mentioned in the ranks of Houston, Dance, and Clunn.  I can see it now, we can watch Progressive Boat Insurance commecials with 'those fishing guys' - Hank, Bill, Jimmy, Kevin, and Chuck.

Progressive boat insurance - We'll have you back on the water in 2 & 2.

I bought a few a couple months ago and every time I would hook a fish, I got shocked and the fish would die from electrecution. Must have been the batteries. j/k  ;D

You can tell by the sh*@ eatin grin on his face that he just got your money.

Thought this was joke, but, no.  There really is such a thing.  Shocking.

All looks like a gimmick.  For folks who don't know how or want to learn how to work their lures.  Takes all the fun out of it IMHO.

Reminds me of some the bath toys (less the hooks of course) that I have seen for children.

the problem with gimmick lures is that they will work.

I doubt there is a lure made that hasn't caught some fish somewhere.

Remember the big bud lure? - they worked.

so Chuck Woolery has name recognition and is parlaying that into making money.

Nothing unusual about that.

I believe he probably is a bass fisherman.

I mean he could be selling "Chuck Woolery Wooly underwear" right?

I love the way the hooks curl back in on themselves, good luck getting them embedded in a fish, lmao.

(oops, sorry, forgot these were designed to hang on a xmas tree, not a fish, lol)

Far be it for me to defend Chuck, but the hooks resemble Mustad Triple Grips to me and the Mustads seem to work pretty well.

I had received two of these as a gift from a friend who just knew I liked to fish for bass. Well they sat for a long time in my box and my buddy bet me I couldn't catch a fish on them. I took the challenge and hit 4 bass in the next 20 minutes or so. Yeah it's a gimmick but it did catch fish and a few of them to boot. I was listening to a radio program and chuck was on it, he is an avid bass fisherman, or so he was saying, he wasn't pushing hi9s lure on this show either, There is a time and place for every lure or bait
