Duckett Issues

Featured Replies

one broke on me when I set the hook on a small crappie the other didn't break but would fray my line and would end up breaking all types of line. when I talked to the duckett representative they claimed it was my fault the rod malfunctioned. now please tell me how its my fault that a rod made for catching big bass would break on a small crappie especially when I have always taken care of my rods cause I pay for them myself. and im only 18 so this is a rather big deal to me. Don't discredit me just cause I don't post as much as you either. some f the wisest men never say a word. nonetheless no disrespect im just proving y point that the customer service in some of these brands isn't so great you know?

The second one sounds like a guide problem?  Were you able to identify the guide that was causing the fraying?  That's a cheaper fix than replacing a rod.

Take it to a tech.

This sounds like some of the best CS in the business in my opinion. The only reason I don't buy Duckett is because I like cork. Also, they seem a little stout for my taste, but if I was big into flipping I would not hesitate to try a Duckett.

Have you ever held or used a Duckett? They are the least stout rod out of any production rod I have ever used...

It is just like all rods, I have some Duckett that have a softer bend before getting to the power of the rod and I have some that are as stiff as a broom stick with just a little tip action. it all depends on which model you happen to pick up.

x2.i have a hvy. power micro magic and while imo it is not as sensitive as my tatula it is still my favorite rod in my arsenal.  It's like two rods in one, it has a soft tip but still stout enough for 3/4oz. + plastic.  When I go to set the hook though there is a TON of backbone. I've only had the rod a month but I have winched some fish out of some pretty narly stuff and I haven't felt underpowered yet...
