That looks pretty good. I've been tying my own jigs for several years now. I love being able to put together some costom colors and match the hatch better.

I have been tying my own jigs since shep was a pup.  I used to sell them but got tired of the hassel.  I see nothing wrong with that jig.  I like bright and unusual colors.

If you want a good deal on some silicone skirts, check out www.fishingskirts.com.

Thanks guys!!! I tie my own steelhead jigs and have some flat skirt stuff laying around so I threw it on there... I was saying to someone who I was fishing with that I wish i had about a 3/8th oz jighead instead of 1/8.

Yep.  I use zip ties and copper wire.  I like zip ties the most, but I use the copper wire on some of my smaller jigs.

I've got about a dozen of the first tru-tungsten jigs that are tied with kevlar; they are nicely finished.  I don't beleive they are tied this way anymore.  Anyway...what is the advantage of wrapping thread around there dozens of times?
