Central Florida Cross Species Tackle Inshore\bass Help

Featured Replies

Hi, Everyone, I have been away from some time, my rods have been sitting in a corner collecting dust, but I have Cleaned and lubed the reels, wound them with new line and Im ready to start fishing more often again, My girlfriend has show interest in fishing, Though she seemed to like Inshore fishing from the bank in the canals, and from the pier, Im hoping to introduce her to freshwater fishing and also to use artificial lures rather than bait, a few years ago i gave most of my Tackle to a buddy who fishes a lot, so i Have a mostly empty Box, just a few essentials like some worms, hooks, weights, extra line, and one cheap crank bait that has never caught a fish.

Im Hoping to assemble a collection of tackle that could play well in both situations,

Im definitely going to add a brass spoon to the box since it is recommended to me for inshore use in the area.

What else would you recommend I add to this tackle Box?

Most of my fishing is for bass and panfish, But about 35% of my fishing is done in inshore canals, where i would like to aim for Redfish and Mangrove snapper. which i have had moderate susccess catching using bass terminal tackle.

thanks in advance for the help.

Rat-L-Traps will catch both bass & redfish

Swim baits in the 3 1/2-5" size will catch both plus any Speckle Trout, rig em swim jigs or bounce em on the bottom with lead heads.

DOA Shrimp is deadly on all 3

Zara Spooks in the saltwater size

I will have to try the zara spooks, i have had good results with floating tube\worm hybrids in the past

I have never tried a shrimp for bass, have used crawdads in the past with no success. I have tried artificial shrimp for inshore, with no results, maybe im doing it wrong,

and swim baits i have never tried, unless a fluke counts? i dunno i tried fishing it like a weedless rigged worm. Did not get the results i get with the worm.

and i have lost every rattle trap ive bough, in the first 30 to 45 mins of use, lol i too many weeds in my lakes and rivers, but have never tried for inshore, so will have to get a couple.
