Spoons With Swivels?

Featured Replies

Just kind of hit me a second ago, any of you guys try fishing a spoon with a swivel? How did it go?

I have swivels attached to all my spoons, always have(4.5"-8"), didn't know ya fish them any other way. Isn't line twist a problem w/o. a swivel?

I still get line twist even with a swivel.

I fish all my spoons with a swivel to prevent line twist.

Yeah I always fish spoons with ball bearing swivels.  I use light mono line and the spoons tend to twist it up without a swivel.

I don't add them, however some of my spoons come with swivels and I don't remove them.  The type of spoon would dictate the need for a swivel, most of my spoons wobble back and forth creating no extra line twist.  There are spoons like a j-spoon, drone spoon that turn over, a swivel is a good idea on them.  I recently bought a 3/4 oz Little Cleo, without a swivel it turns over way too much to my liking, most likely it will get see action from me.  Not a bad spoon just didn't suit me, I did catch few cuda with it.

Same here. Always with a ball bearing swivel, never a snap swivel. The snap picks up too much junk.
