Bps Tourney Special Combo

Featured Replies

Looking to buy this baitcast combo from BPS. Is it good quality or should I keep looking?

I have no experience with that particular combo, but I've owned the bps pro qualifier and carbonlite rod.  Based on my experience with those I'd say you'll be happy with the tourney combo.  They make quality stuff.

Although I haven't used it, based on holding it in my hand, the combo feels like a pool stick with a reel on it :)

Never used the rods but I have 4 of the tourney special baitcasters. Great reels for a great price.

That could be a good thing!!!!!

I guy I used to fish with years ago, he has since passed away, all he fished was the tourney special combos.  He would buy 5 of them every year.  These setups would see a lot of abuse.  But after years of seeing these things, I came to the conclusion that they are a one and done setup.  Meaning, you get about 1 season out of them and they are toast.

Haven't had any issues with mine at all and a few of them are going on 2 and 3 years. Taking care of things and the proper maintenance can go a long way.
