Odd Mlf Takahiro Omori Interview

Featured Replies

MLF is my favorite bass fishing tournament that I enjoy watching.  Seeing long non-interrupted interviews with the MLF pros is cool.

But this is one strange interview.

What makes it odd? Tak is a story that anyone should get excited about, went for it and made it. Theres a little bit of language barrier but he does pretty well.

Tak is not the odd one.  The odd ball was the interviewer.  Talking about not getting married and picking up women in Japan and here.  lol.  That guy was odd.

I really like Takahiro. As for being odd, I think part of it is the language barrier, which he stumbles a bit but breaks quite well for the most part, but mostly a cultural barrier. Japanese culture is quite different than it is here. They're very stringent on quality and politeness. In Japanese culture, its considered rude to say NO directly to someone, so they kinda dance around it. Not like here, where we are bluntly jerks to one another(No disrespect love America, but we are a little disrespectful at times). But those differences probably make things a little odd.

When Takahiro came to America he thrust himself into a language barrier, that's how bad he wanted to be a pro angler.

He's very dedicated and knowledgeable, and his mind is focused 100% on fishing. I like Tak

I'll never forget the tourney that Takahiro Omori won during the Kissimmee Tour in 2005.

The bulk of the contestants were slugging it out on Lake Kissimmee and Lake Toho.

Omori covertly locked into Cypress Lake and had the lake pretty much to himself.

While Tak was boating one of his bass, he let-out a mock-up Iaconelli yell.

It was half-volume with a Japanese accent...Hilarious ;-)
