Bought some D bombs yesterday haha.  We will see today how they do.

I use Sweet Beavers almost exclusively with an Owner Twist Lock hook.

I really don't have an inordinate amount of piercing through at all.

No more or less than a D Bomb that I use only as a change up.

And I do a LOT of flipping, pitching and punching.

D bombs.... because they just work....

not certain what the color name is, but the ones that are brownish on one side and like purpleish/blueish on the other are killer around here....

however, i also have the super bug and it's killer as well.  kind of a hybrid for the usual green pumpkins/black & blue

Missle D Bomb with a Strike King Hack Attack Flipping Hook gets the nod for me.   Also, VMC makes some good flipping hooks as well.  I like how they seal around the eye of the hook.  Strike King Rage Tail Structure Bug is VERY good as well, but as mentioned, not very durable.  They're usually good for 2-3 fish per bait.

I use both.

The standard ones for scattered vegetation, and the HD ones for punching.

Hmm I don't own any beaver baits. I just use wither the Keitech Crazy Flapper which is very durable in the larger size. and or I use a Swing Impact Fat.

I agree that the Trokar hooks aren't great for flipping vegetation because it cuts through the bait. I like the VMC HD straight shank flipping hooks and I use a Pit Boss a majority of the time.

Yum Bad Mamma..........I bought a couple packs of these early this year to try, and I can't put them down.

 

Havoc Pit Boss....Pretty close to the Yum bait, but with a little more action, I always think it's a good idea to have 2 baits that are close , but different, sometimes when the bite is hot on one, and it slows, a few extra bites for some reason can be milked out just by giving them a subtle diffrence.

 

Yum Christie Craw....when I (more importantly the bass) want a bait with a little more movement. I'll reach for a "flapping" style bait anytime the water is dirty, and/or there is a nice "chop" on the water from wind and they are not chasing moving baits, plus this thing is a killer swimjig trailer.

 

Netbait Paca Craw....same reasoning as applies to the Bad Mamma/Pit Boss...plus it comes in biggger and smaller sizes than the Christie craw.

 

Yum Dinger..........when they are in cover, and NOT biting any kind of craw/creature bait or a jig, pegging a sinker to the nose of a dinger gets bit.

That Yum Bad Mamma looks like a killer bait. I need to pick some up!
