I use the original on everything. Great stuff

I have three reels spooled with PP now. Spooling another one tomorrow before I leave for the Lake.

I also have a brand new spool of 40lb Kast King. Not a bad braid.. But not as good as PP. I'll sell it in the market forum.. 500 meters spool.

I guess you could say I like Power Pro on my spinning set ups - I use all with a FC or co-poly leader for :  Ned Rig , Slip Shot , Drop Shot , Shaky Head , Fluke , Swim Jig .

I too use 5# on my ultralight. It's also a 1000 size Shimano. This stuff is fantastic in this pound test isn't it! I couldn't believe the casting distance I was able to get after switching from 4# fluorocarbon.

Besides lack of casting distance with #4lb. FC on a ultralight - my hook setting suffered as well .

The lack of stretch with #5lb. PP really helps in this case !

I still have original PP on quite a few set ups, only problem I ever had is windknots which seems to occur way more on my freshwater setups, even though I may be using the same poundage as saltwater.  Any braided line is apt to get scuffed up and break off, losing a fish or lure from a breakoff has more to do with where you're fishing than the brand of line.

I switched to another brand of braid 8 months for freshwater, have yet to have windknot or lose a fish due to breakage.  I've spooled up 3 saltwater reels with the same brand but in 20# not 10# and the success continues.

I'm using Stren High Impact for my leaders. Fishing in extremely rocky areas I've had no problem with breaks or knots.

Yesterday morning before I headed out to the lake I spooled one of my reels with Sufix 832. I wanted a fair comparison to the PP. The line has a very different feel to it. It's quieter than PP and flows very smoothly thru the guides. The other qualities worth mentioning is that

832 winds extremely level and never once dug into itself.

I'm totally impressed with both braids.
