Online Tourny?

Featured Replies

I stumbled across the SKA July online tournament yesterday and it got me thinking...do any of you guys ever enter onine tournaments? Would there be any interest in getting one together?

I had an idea like that, but with the guys in my club. You fish all year, be it in a tournament or fun fishing, and you'd track all of your biggest bass for the whole year. At the end of the year (or at our annual awards banquet), the guy with the five biggest bass that year gets an award, like an Annual Achievement award. But the bass can only be in-state, or if you have an out-of-state competition. That way, someone who vacations every year on Lake Fork can't run away with it.

I know some guys that fish online tournament through a website. Seem to like it ok. I've never tried it though.

Never done one, but would be willing to try one under the right circumstances. Maybe if there were one on a site like this that was just for pride, over a relatively short period of time against people in my region; that would be cool. I don't think I'd lay real money down on that type of thing.

I definitely don't see how a money tourny in an online format could be feasible. Maybe a small prize...a few custom baits or whatever someone was willing to donate. You'd have to measure fish in inches I think...and maybe do it over a time frame of 2 weeks to a month. Take a picture of your bass next to the tape and post your 5 best at the end.

I tried it once. I got second place in one and made some of my money back. Next time around I won it and got DQ'd because I didn't measure the fish correctly. I did it the exact same way with all my other entries and they never said anything until I won. First place was $100 and I could pay $150 to challenge the decision  :hahaha-024:

Fool me once... Haven't entered anymore since.
