What knot do you guys tie for your cavitation buzzbaits? Im having a Hell of a time figuring it out!

Palomar

That's what I've been doing but it comes lose when I tie it so I'll have to practice more!

If I'm using straight braid then it's a palomar. Any other line I use a Uni.

What do ya recommend with buzzbaits? Floro leader?

I had my doubts about the palomar knot at first, but I am completely sold on it now.  Other than it being a pain sometimes to drag the loop over skirts and large baits, it's easy and fast.  I honestly do double-wrap before I loop over, but that's just personal preference.

 

I have found it easier to loop over, pull the tag end first all the way down, then pull the reel end, then grab both ends and pull away from one another.  Just make sure that loop that you created to loop over the lure make it's all the way back to the main knot.  A lot of times that loop will get hung up on the eye and not cinch down on the line like it should....that's probably the most important thing about tying that one.

Mono/ Fluoro/ Copoly: SD jam.

 

No matter if it's a buzzbait or a texas rig.

Mono or a copoly. It's a reaction strike so you don't need anything super sensitive

i consider myself pretty adept with tying the palomar knot and it's my preference in this situation.  that said, i think the buzzbait is the hardest bait to tie it on, followed closely by the spinnerbait.  the blades make it tough in terms of the loop and your grip.  

practice makes it better, not perfect....

Pretty much use a Palomar for everything, including buzzers on braid. No real secret here - simply increase the length of your doubled line and loop size to accommodate whatever size bait you are using, then tie like normal.

Double Palomar. Well I dont know if thats what it is actually called but you start tying a regular Palomar but you thread the loop end around the line twice (instead of once) before you pull the bait through the loop. I will resist slipping a lot better than a regular Palomar I use this knot for all braid but always stick to the regular palomar for fluoro.

Uni for everything.  Braid needs a few more wraps.  No loop to deal with, short tag line.  No leader needed for TW baits.

Topwater and fluoro don't mix

I use braid.  Typically I'm throwing the bait around cover.  I admit, I will use a mono leader sometimes when on a clear lake with no cover.  For the mono to braid I tie a modified Albright knot.  For the mono to the buzzbait I tie a san diego jam.  
90% of the time I am throwing straight braid.  I tie a trilene knot for that.  Simple knot, and it wastes the least amount of line each time you re-tie. 

Palomar for every lure & line

Braid to any eye, lure hook or swivel, this is the best knot I have ever used.  I used to call it a double warp improved clinch knot, isn't what it is so I've changed to the Henry knot.  First saw demonstrated many years ago by Henry Waszczuk, have been using ever since.  I can't find a graphic of of it, I'm posting a pic of an improved clinch, on step #2 make 2 wraps not 1, the knot holds like a weld.

Just to be clear - you mean after taking the tag through the hole between the eye and the main line that is now wrapped just make a second wrap around it the main line?

Yes, quite simple 2 wraps instead of 1 around the loop.
