So, the S model has less ball bearings than the c3 but it's about $50 bucks cheaper.  Anyone used them both before?  Please do a compare/contrast.  

The C3 is a Swedish made reel of legend.   Isn't the S version the Chinese junk model that isn't worth 2 cents? 

No comparison except they are round reels and both say Abu.Abu is taking a big gamble doin this especially if they are targeting first timers.

The "S" is Chinese junk made mostly (I think) for Walmart.

I don't know anything about the S model but I've been running a 4601 on a G Loomis FS904x for over 12 years and it's still running strong with 0 problems.  Granted it's an old school rig but still works great!

The C3 is a legend. Don't skimp on these reels. The bearings are of higher quality and the reel just feels better.
