Power Pro Super 8

Featured Replies

I just tried it for the first time. I like it a lot better than regular pp

I used the SS today. It's a knock off of 832 with a bit finer feel. Do I like it bettter than the others? No.. It's just another smooth braid.

I'm using braid from 40#-65#. It may be a different story for those who use lighter line.

Has anyone used the spider wire slick line? I believe its called "stealth" or something similiar. I received it in this months MTB.

I got that in my mtb, too. haven't thrown it on a spool though. it looks pretty slick.

For me all said and done, I like Power Pro for moving baits and the 832 for jigs and worms.

that's funny, because I'm setup just the opposite.

Also a little different - PP makes some great high-vis colors that are great for finesse fishing. I use PP SS in 20lb or less on my spinning reels. It casts great and it's easy to follow.

On my casting rods, I use 832. It handles great, casts well, etc. I have had a bit of frustration with the PP SS on casting reels. The strands seem to separate and damage a lot more than the 832.

Really, the Power Pro has more of a nylon feel. Casts a long way...

Right, I didn't do it on purpose, it just happens that 832 is spooled on my cranking reel. When it comes time to respool, that one will be ppss, too, unless something dramatically better comes along.
