Dx744 Or Dx784?

Featured Replies

For dragging and casting 3/8 to 1/2 ounce jigs? Any experience?

784..especially if you are fishing a little deeper water. longer length will pick up line quicker and the tip is faster on the 784 than the 744. it's an excellent rod for dragging really anything...especially jigs.

Honestly dx744. Most people use 7-7 3' foot rods for deep and shallow jig fishing so a 7 4' will do you just fine. I have a dx744 and its a dream. Plus you can skip docks with it without trouble.

Another vote for the 784 for the reasons stated. That's why I have 2 of them.

784 is a much better option IMO. I have fished with both and if you want to drag jigs the 784 is the ticket. If you can skip baits with a 744 then you can skip baits with a 784, but that's not what you are looking to do with it anyways.
