Loomis Gl2's Big Sale At Dsg

Featured Replies

Not sure of other locations but the Dick's in our area (N. TX) are blowing out all GL2's for $119.00 - even the swimbait rods that were marked $255.00. I know this version is not as well liked as previous ones but at that price , might be worth a look.

I don't even think my local Dick's sells G.Loomis haha. Maybe.

wow what a deal!

saw the same at one near me.... but still didn't like the feel of them, otherwise i might have really considered picking one up....

The swimbait rod is the only GL2 I would consider.  Luckily my Dick's happens to have one, might have to pick it up.

I checked the national website. No such sale... Must be a few stores here and there offering the rods.

They never advertise their sales. Half the time the way to see if a good item is on sale you take it to ring up and it comes up as on sale.

I picked one up at dicks yesterday to try. Sticker price of 119.99.

I would never pay full retail but I used it this morning and for what I paid for it I like it. I have the 854c jwr. I put a lew's tourn mb 7.5:1 on it that I already had.

Inital thoughts on it

Slightly tip heavy but not overwhelming

Sensitivity was there but was not blown away with it

Not heavy but but not as light as some

Reel seat and grip was better than I was expecting based on reviews. Comfortable to me the way I palm the reel

Really good back bone and taper. I was pitching mid weight jigs rather well.

I'm happy with my purchase overall.

If something is on sale/clearance at Dick's, you'll see a price of $xx.97

meh. That's more of a price correction. I still wouldn't pay 120 bucks for one.
