Jdm Vs Usa Specs Shimano

Featured Replies

Ok idk how to exactly word what I'm questioning so I'll explain. So Curado G Chronarch E have the longer handles and thicker grips. The Scorpion 1001XT which would be the equal to the Curado has a shorter handle and smaller grips. Does this play as well with the new Scorpion I and Curado I or are they both the same size and Metanium USA and JDM versions. Wanna pull the trigger on a Metanium and 2 newer Scorps. I'm not sure of all the lengths and info I have found was conflicting.

Scorpion 1001 XT is the same as the Curado 50E, I believe they had the same size handles. Metanium and new Scorpion will have the same size handles as the USDM versions. I'm actually not 100% sure that there is even a difference in the USDM and JDM Metanium, I'm pretty sure it's called the USDM version because it's actually offered in the US instead of having to buy it from Japan. Met XG has a 96 mm handle on it which is longer than the regular Met and the Met HG.

Yeah, I was under the impression that going forward the JDM and USDM reels would be exactly the same.

There are differences between the Chronarch 50e and Scorpion 1000xt

The bearings and the knobs. The Scorpion has better bearings and smaller knobs so its slightly lighter.

Does the CH50E have an anti reverse pawl? I think it does. The XT1000 does not.

I believe the new Scorpion has 4 bearing in the knobs as opposed to 2 in the new Curado.

The new Scorpion has 1 bearing and 1 bushing per knob.

The new Scorpion has 1 bearing and 1 bushing per knob.

This must mean the new Curado has no bearings in the knobs cause the new Curado has 5 + 1 bearings. We learn something new everyday cause I thought the new Curado has 2 bearings and 2 bushings.

Thanks for responses

I have a a chronarch 50 e and a 1000xt. The differences stated above are not noticeable at all to me. For the same price I'd go with the 1000xt just because they're more rare. But I wouldn't pay too much extra for one over a 50e
