New Gloomis

Featured Replies

Just acquired a new GL2 spinning rod from my local Dicks. It was only $90, so I just snagged it, didn't really need it, but hey it's a good deal.

I got a 853JWR, anyone got anything to say about it?

For the price you got, you got a great deal. I had a 803 JWR. I sold mine, but mostly because I was upgrading to the GLX series. Fish it, enjoy it. After all, it is a Loomis.

I dont have the gl2 but I have the 853 glx jwr and I use it mostly for 3/8oz jigs + trailer.

I was throwing a hollow frog with it from a kayak the other day and was surprised how well it cast being an XF rod.

it  handles heavier lures better than my 783s glx and 803s nrx.

I actually like the foregrip on the gl2 a lot more than the new glx version which is pretty thick. good find!

I'm probably going to pick up a swimbait rod next week, if they have any left.
