I live in Florida and I just bought a Boo-yah Pad Crasher. Obviously, I don't have much experience with frogs but I have my friends help for technique. My questions are, what time of day are the best to use a frog and what kind of weather is the best type?

I've caught all 10 or so of my bass on frogs this season at 5:15 - 6:45 pm and every one of them has been in the weedline or a few feet from it.

If frog is on the menu it doesn't matter what time of day you throw them. Some throw in the morning others throw in the evening and at night. Me... if the fish are active I will throw the frog all day long.

Anytime is frog time.  Unless it's Hammer time.

Anytime is frog time if there's open water. 

 

Tie your frog on, find some weeds/lilly pads/matted grass, and throw it over them, around it, and behind it. Once you get a few bites, go from there. Look for irregularities like grass points, where two different types for vegetation meet, or where wind and/or current is pushing into the vegetation.

I heard that one time from a boater I was with on the St.Johns River about 9:00 one time and couldn't believe that when we headed in I still had the same rod in my hand.

This is a great point. I do a lot of my fishing in the Glades, and I don't start fishing my spots some times til late morning or early afternoon. The bass are slamming my frog offering from high noon til I wrap up in the evening.
