guy wants 11500 what do ya'll think?

I would say that's too high for a 25 year old boat. Good motor, nice accessories but not worth that much.

Too much for a 25 year old boat, no matter the condition/

It's the premium of being a ranger, which really means nothing but being overpriced.

I think that's probably a little high, especially this time of year. A lot of it depends on the condition of the boat itself.

If this is the rig you are looking at, I would suggest that the price is at least $2k high based on the fact that the dealership will probably be sitting on this boat through a long winter.

Mention this fact to them and suggest that you have a way to free up some of their cash flow!

I bought an 2001 R81vs with 150 yamaha max, motorguide tour pro 82 lbs thrust and two 5 year old lowrance unties for 10k. Boat and motor in perfect shape. I upgraded the electronics and many other options. I think you can get newer.

You are looking at a boat that would be overprice if it had the original motor for sure.  The newer motor is adding a lot of value to its price.

Check the condition of the boat over really well, then ask to get the boat out on the water for a demo.  If all that is good then start talking price. Most people's, especially dealers, suggested price is not their final price.  Offer them 10,500 to 11,000 see what they say. Good Luck

I would be worried about the wood in the transom and stringer on a boat thats 25 years old. Its definitely worth the 3-500 to get the boat surveyed when you are spending that kind of money on an old boat. It would be a bummer to buy it and have the transom crack the first year you own it.

Ranger stopped using wood in the late 80s. 91 should be all fiberglass. That being said even fiberglass transoms go bad

Didn't realize they used composites construction, thats a major advantage over other brands.
