Nh Pb Line Thru Trout

Featured Replies

She INHALED a 6" savage gear line thru trout and weighed in at 7lbs 3oz topping my previous PB by 9oz which was caught last fall... That's 3 consecutive falls giving me a new personal best, I'll take it! Haha, tight lines and get on that fall bite!

Congrats on the new PB!  That is a heck of a fish!

Awesome largemouth, congrats! The huge head and mouth on that one are built for eating trout!

question: Does the lake you caught that one on get stocked with trout? I feel a "swimbait" phase is coming for me sometime in the near future. I am curious if that trout profile if only a good option when trout are a forage option for the bass

The funny thing is there are no trout native to the spot I was fishing. It leads into a river inhabited by trout but  I was comfortable with a trout color because the water was so stained, almost muddy, that I figured a fish wouldn't shy... And it paid off, but it does make me want to throw it in some bodies of water near me that get stocked with trout..

I catch bass on shad lakes with no trout using trout swimbaits, and bass in trout lakes with no shad on Shad swimbaits.

I don't think a bass has ever seen anything resembling a 10" plum worm but they sure do like them.

From what I gather a lot of fish that are caught on trout baits are caught in areas were there isn't even any trout in the first place. Since a bass is an ambush predator I dont believe they even care what type of fish it is, if its an easy meal they'll try and eat it. To be honest half of the stuff I see bass caught on dont even look like anything they've seen before, or that lives in the body of water from where they were caught from.

Oh awesome fish by the way!!!!!
